A walkable Fresno neighborhood that comes alive after dark, the Tower District is home to indie bars, live-music venues, and some of the city's best late-night food.

Anchored by the neon Tower Theatre marquee at Olive and Wishon, the Tower District has been Fresno's unofficial nightlife hub for more than three decades. It's the rare Central Valley neighborhood where you can walk from a wine bar to a punk show to a taco truck without moving your car. Start the evening on Olive Avenue. The Landmark and Full Circle Brewing's Tower taproom are dependable early stops, while Goldstein's Mortuary & Delicatessen — yes, that's the actual name — pours some of the city's better cocktails. For live music, check Strummer's and Fulton 55 (a short drive south). Both regularly book touring indie and Americana acts. When hunger strikes at midnight, La Elegante Taqueria on North Blackstone and Sam's Italian Deli & Market on West Shaw stay open late. Rideshare is your friend — parking on Olive fills fast after 9 p.m.
