Fresno County launches online permit portal for septic and well work
The new portal covers Environmental Health permits and is expected to shave weeks off routine applications.

Fresno County has launched a new online portal that lets homeowners in unincorporated areas apply for septic system, private well, and food-facility permits without visiting the Environmental Health office on Van Ness Avenue.
Department director Ed Moreno said the portal is expected to shave two to four weeks off routine applications by eliminating mailed paperwork and in-person appointments.
"For a family in Prather or Del Rey trying to replace a failing septic system, driving into downtown Fresno was a real burden," Moreno said.
The portal is live at fresnocountyca.gov/environmental-health, and staff will offer walk-in help at the Van Ness office through the end of the year for residents without reliable internet access.
